A Note From Our Membership Recruitment Director
Hello Ladies! My name is Leslie Guillory and I am the Membership Recruitment Director for the Gamma Mu chapter at Southeastern Louisiana University! I would like to congratulate your decision on choosing to go through recruitment and become Greek! Which ever sorority you decide to join, I hope you find comfort and happiness and I encourage you to get to know the ladies of Sigma Sigma Sigma because we know you would be an amazing addition to our chapter!
Some Advantages of Joining a Sorority:
1. Greek women have a higher average GPA than non-greek women on a college campus.
2. The adjustment from high school to college life can be tough without the help of friends, having a support system like a sorority can make the transition alot smoother and easier.
3. You will make bonds with girls which will last a far beyond your collegiate experience.
4. Being in a sorority will be a great networking tool and you will become instantly more involved on campus.
5. You will expand your leadership skills (there are many office positions and committees you can join and be apart of), you learn how to speak publicly, run meetings, manage a budget, motivate others. All of these skills are beneficial and can carry over into your career.
6. Helping others in need, through community service and philanthropy events, is one of the most rewarding feelings.
Some events which take place within a semester in Sigma:
-Socials, such as date parties, semi-formals, formals
-Participation in Homecoming Week on campus
-Mother/daughter and Father/daughter days
-Philantropy and Community Service events
-Strawberry Fest
-Intramurals
-Participation in Greek Week
*Being in a sorority, will definetly help you to get more involved, but academics are always our first priority.
*Not all events are mandatory, so it is definetly possible to manage a life outside of Sigma.
*Don't let finances deter you, we work on an installment system, and make it easy for all members to keep up with their financial obligations.
